Reduced the number of emails in my Inbox. I have gotten online with Microsoft support several times and have done the following: 1. I have to reboot the computer to fix the issue. On my desktop computer Outlook will 'hang' almost daily while synchronizing the IMAP folders.
2) Advanced - scroll down to the send/receive heading - click on the send/receive button on the right. Here are the steps: 1) Navigate to File - Options. It works on Outlook 2007, 20 configured with IMAP or POP. Most of the time Outlook hangs on synchronize folders when send receive. Select the “All” tab as we are now going to sync folders we wish or need to sync. I am ASSUMING that Outlook on my PC is trying to sync with the server, which is in turn trying to coordinate the sync. It appears to be only in the IMAP accounts, but it can hang on any of the folders within the IMAP account. Outlook 2016 hangs pretty much every day on the synchronizing step.
